BPL Presents humanities and art social sciences University Open Air

**Please note: Due to the forecast of rain throughout the day, today’s (Thursday, September 9) University Open Air classes have been cancelled. We will notify registered patrons if we’re able to reschedule these classes for another day.

In this course, we will address the question: is American society ready to accept women as political leaders?

Women leaders have long led other countries in other parts of the world including Benazir Bhutto in Pakistan; Indra Gandhi, India; Tansu Çiller, Turkey; and Haseena wajid Bangladesh and Chandrika Kumaratunga, Sri Lanka.

Nadia Batool Bokhari has a Master of Science (M.S.) in journalism from Columbia University. She has previously worked as a freelance journalist and TV anchor in Pakistan. She has over a decade of international reporting experience with a special focus on issues of social justice, human rights, and health. She received various U.S.-based fellowships in a broad and diverse range of topics including health reporting in journalism and the Census 2020.
