BPL Presents humanities and art University Open Air

In this workshop students will experiment with abstract photography, using their cameras in unpredictable nontraditional ways and focus on observation alone. No pre-visualization allowed! This class explores what happens when we accept random chance into our creative photographic process, let go of preconceived notions of beauty, and push against the camera’s limits. Bring your cameras or phones. All camera types accepted.

Sol Avi Erez is an artist and educator, working in photography, video, and mixed media since 2008. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Art Education from HaMidrasha School of Art in Beit-Berl, Israel, and a Master’s in Fine Arts from the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan, US. He is an adjunct professor at the County College of Morris in New Jersey, and the co-founder of Wick Gallery in Brooklyn, New York.

*In cases of rain, classes will be canceled. Registered patrons will be notified by email on the morning of each course day and are also encouraged to check the UOA webpage and BPL Presents’ Facebook and Twitter pages for updates.
