How patterns are made?

In this 2 hour-long workshop, we’ll explore patterns as both a visual and embodied language. We’ll start by looking at what patterns are and noticing different types like repetition, rhythm, symmetry, and variation, across art, design, architecture, and everyday life. We’ll also learn how to build more complex repeating patterns using simple drawing tools, showing how basic shapes and marks can grow into more intricate designs.

University Open Air is generously supported by The Morris & Alma Schapiro Fund.
