BPL Outdoors BPL Presents humanities and art University Open Air

From prehistoric cave paintings to the evolving field of Eco-Art, Earth's surroundings have been the source material as well as the subject matter inspiring many artists. In this lecture we will explore the historical context of environmental consciousness in contemporary art, and the various strategies artists employ in their sustainable creative practice.

Alon Andorn is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice encompasses drawing, collage, sculpture & video installation. He holds a Master's degree in Fine Arts and a Bachelor's in Visual Communication, both from the Bezalel Academy of Arts & Design, Israel. Prior to immigrating to the U.S. Andorn has taught art & design in various higher education establishments for over a decade, and in the past years has also worked with kids and teens, teaching Hebrew as well as art.

*In cases of rain, classes will be either moved to the Prospect Park Boathouse or canceled. Registered patrons will be notified by email on the morning of each course day and are also encouraged to check the UOA webpage and BPL Presents’ Facebook and Twitter pages for updates.

University Open Air is generously supported by The Morris & Alma Schapiro Fund.
