University Open Air: Protecting User Privacy Online

Privacy includes personal and sensitive user information that directly identifies an individual (e.g., name, address, social security number or other identifying number or code, telephone number, marital status, email address, etc. How do organizations manage these information? This class will focus on creating awareness to users on how their privacy is protected. We will discuss privacy notices that should be given to users and how such sensitive information can be passed onto a third party.
Eugene Opoku-Mensah is an Assistant Professor at Middlesex’s College Department of Computer Science. To his credit, he has taught diverse of students in Ghana Information Technology. He then continued in China, where he worked for 6 years before moving to the United States. Dr. Opoku-Mensah uses an interactive approach with practical illustrations that attracts students’ interest to grasp the concepts being taught. His interest is Data Science and Information Security.
