Storytelling Workshop for Polish Seniors | Warsztaty Storytellingu dla Polskich Seniorów
*This session will be held in the Greenpoint library's Walnut Room, on the first floor.*
Polish older adults are welcome to learn the art of storytelling at the library! Polskie osoby starsze mogą uczyć się sztuki opowiadania w bibliotece!
Led by a published storyteller and Polish emigrant, this seven-part series will focus on skills of written or spoken word, recalling life events with detail, and public speaking and performance. Ten siedmioczęściowy cykl, prowadzony przez wydanego gawędziarza i polskiego emigranta, skupi się na umiejętnościach posługiwania się słowem pisanym lub mówionym, szczegółowo przypominają wydarzenia z życia oraz wystąpień publicznych i występów.
To celebrate, the series will end with a storytelling festival on the roof of the Greenpoint Library. Aby to uczcić, seria zakończy się festiwalem opowiadania historii na dachu Biblioteki Greenpoint.

About the teaching artist:
Danusia Trevino is an actress, storyteller, and musician from Poland. She toured internationally with New York City punk band FUR. As an actress, she was seen with the Wooster Group in A Pink Chair… directed by Elizabeth LeCompte (The Centre Pompidou, Paris/The Performing, Garage NY/ Red Cat LA, Skirball Center, NY, Fisher Center for the Performing Arts) and with the Dream Adoption Society (directed by Krzysztof Garbaczewski) in Ginsberg/Bialoszewski (Nowy Teatr, Warsaw Production at The Performing Garage). Other theater work: Natl. tour, The Radio Show SITI Company (dir.Anne Bogart) and The Johnsons (dir. Antony (Anohni)) Solo show Wonder Bread: performed on New York stages and Edinburgh Fringe Fest.).
Film work: Xenophilia, Acts of Worship, Where is Joel Baum, Metamorphosis, and An Actress.

She was a part of the New York literary salon, Women of Letters at Joe’s Pub and This Alien Nation also at Joe's Pub and was a regular at Cornelia Street Café in Liar’s Show.
