Virtual Programming
“Living through the Holocaust was luck, but living with it takes skill,” says 97-year-old Holocaust survivor and still-active artist Fred Terna.
You are welcome to join with others to meet both the survivor Fred Terna and Julia Mayer, author of "Painting Resilience", a just-released full-length biography of Terna, a personal, intergenerational exploration of the role Terna’s art plays before, during and after the Holocaust.
Mayer will do a brief reading, spotlight some of Terna’s paintings (many held by the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, Yad Vashem, the Albertina, and other institutions), share a fireside chat with Terna, and entertain questions from the audience.
Please register for this free virtural program, moderated by Frank Xu from Brooklyn Public Library, with your name and email. Zoom link will be sent to your email three hours before the activity starts.
