The Mayor’s Public Engagement Unit (PEU) is holding tabling hours at branches across Brooklyn to provide direct, in-person assistance with essential city services. These sessions are designed for anyone who needs face-to-face help with city systems. No appointment required.

Their staff can help residents navigate HRA benefits, understand eligibility, and complete applications on the spot. They also troubleshoot barriers that typically slow people down—missing documents, unclear notices, long wait times, or confusion about next steps.

PEU’s team supports a wide range of needs, including:

  • SNAP and Cash Assistance applications and recertifications
  • Health insurance enrollment and renewals
  • Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) support Child care benefits
  • Rent Freeze and eviction-prevention programs
  • Discounted MetroCards and other affordability programs
