Learn to use the recording studio, located right here at Brooklyn Public Library. This workshop opens the doors to the recording studio for beginners. With the help of a facilitator, you will be guided step-by-step through a studio session – setting up a mic and recording vocals, using computer software and a MIDI keyboard, plugging in a guitar, and adding live sounds. This two-hour workshop will be student-run, meaning the only curriculum is to create music together, all while exploring the studio along the way. Space limited to five. First come, first served. To secure a spot, sign up at the Info Commons Reference Desk 30 minutes in advance of the session.
If you are an intermediate user, you will better served by taking an upcoming Guided Studio Session.
