Mental Health First-Aid Workshop (Free Certification Course)
Do you know someone who is battling with mental illness(es)? If so, join the New Lots Library for a FREE 8-hour mental health course instructed by Raul Rubio, from the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. This instructional course will educate participants on how to:
- Identify signs and symptoms of anxiety, depression, and other mental illnesses
- Learn how to responds if you see these signs in youth, friends, and loved ones
- Connect persons to appropriate professional, peer, social, and self-help care
All participants will receive a three-year certification in mental health first-aid!
This is an in-person training and will be offered at the New Lots Adult Learning Center; located on the 2fl. Masks are not required, but are encouraged.
