Come meet and dance with renowned illustrator, author, and designer Maira Kalman to celebrate a new book, Cake, and the re-issue of her classic children’s books about Max Stravinsky, canine extraordinaire.

Kalman and food writer Barbara Scott-Goodman share a mutual love of cake and their new book is a celebration of the timeless dessert, pairing Kalman’s enchanting illustrations of Scott-Goodman’s mouthwatering recipes for layer cakes. Kalman’s whimsical imagination also brings to life beloved Max the dog, whose adventures she chronicles in the books Max Makes a Million, Ooh-la-la (Max in Love), and Max in Hollywood, Baby. Follow globe-trotting Max and meet his friend Marcello, who builds upside-down houses and Parisian pal Crêpes Suzette, the dazzling Dalmation.

Enjoy dancing to live music by The Ebony Hillbillies, taste incredible cake, and learn about the life of a millionaire poet dog!

Books will be available for purchase at the event.
