What are the changes you wish to see in the world?

Explore that question through writing your very own protest song! Throughout history, protest songs have been instrumental in movements for social and cultural change all over the world, spreading powerful messages of justice and peace, galvanizing and bringing people together, and becoming the soundtrack to major moments in time. In this workshop, we will listen to and learn about a few protest songs from different time periods and regions, explore which causes we feel most passionate about, and ultimately channel one into song!

This will be a virtual program facilitated by Ilanna Saltzman!

The week of the program Gerritsen Beach Library will be giving out notebooks & pencils in grab & go bags so you can work on your songs!
