techknowledge
A very beginner-friendly introduction to the audio tools available for use in the Info Commons Recording Studio. You will receive an overview of the following:
- Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) software applications loaded on the studio iMac computer: Adobe Audition, Apple GarageBand, Audacity, Avid Pro Tools
- AKG Perception 420 condenser microphone and pop filter
- Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface
- Novation Launchkey 49 USB MIDI keyboard
- Avid Artist Mix control surface
This workshop will focus on fundamentals with the goal of enabling novice users to begin using the studio on their own. By the end of the class, students should be able to choose which DAW best suits their needs, create a session, record audio, and back up the session files to their personal drive.
It’s a small space and participation is limited to five people, first come, first served.
