Granta’s Best of Young Spanish-Language Novelists II, with Anderson Tepper
Anderson Tepper hosts a Zoom roundtable with writers from Granta’s The Best of Young Spanish-Language Novelists II issue.
In 2010, Granta’s The Best of Young Spanish-Language Novelists introduced the world to such brilliant and important writers as Alejandro Zambra, Samanta Schweblin, and Andrés Neuman, among others. Now, a decade later, Granta’s second list celebrating young Spanish-language novelists showcases the next generation of literary talent. The issue contains new writing from twenty-five of the most exciting writers aged thirty-five and under from across the Spanish-speaking world, from Spain and Mexico to Argentina, Cuba, Equatorial Guinea, and beyond.
The issue, guest-edited by Valerie Miles, has once again created a lasting snapshot of a vibrant and diverse literary scene and a thrilling assortment of emerging voices. Join us for a conversation with writers Mónica Ojeda (Ecuador), Mateo García Elizondo (Mexico), and Miluska Benavides (Peru), along with Granta en Español co-founder and editor Valerie Miles.
Anderson Tepper is co-chair of the International Committee of the Brooklyn Book Festival and has written for The New York Times Book Review, Vanity Fair, World Literature Today, and Words without Borders, among other publications.
Granta’s Best of Young Spanish-Language Novelists II is made possible with support from the National Endowment for the Arts.
