FLEXN at BPL FLEXN at BPL BPL Presents FLEXN at BPL

This program will be in the Grand Lobby.
Brooklyn-born choreographer and flex pioneer Reggie “Regg Roc” Gray and a crew of dancers from the D.R.E.A.M (Dance Rules Everything Around Me) RING will demonstrate flex styles and perform excerpts from FLEXN EVOLUTION (May 18-21 at Park Avenue Armory). Flex is a form of street dance that evolved from Jamaican bruk-up and dancehall and features flexn techniques like gliding, bone-breaking, pausing and connecting. Gray and his crew will discuss flex dance history, FLEXN Evolution and dance as a culture, a vehicle for social justice and, above all, a way for the dancers to tell their own stories through movement.
