E-Waste/Textile Collection Event and Textile Repair Fair

A day of events promoting the care of the things we own!

Join us for an E-Waste and Textile Collection Event in partnership with the Department of Sanitation, powered by Lower East Side Ecology Center.  Let's recycle the things we own responsibly!

E-waste collected at these events include: household and office electronics (computers, laptops, keyboards, printers), smaller entertainment electronics (video game consoles, cell phones, MP3 players), and TVs, VCRs, DVDs, DVRs. 

*Unacceptable items: commercial e-waste, household appliances, air conditioners, batteries, lightbulbs.

Textiles collected at these events include: clothing, shoes, accessories, linens, and all fabric items that are clean, dry, and unsoiled. Textile dropoffs must be in bags!

The event will take place outside of the library on Norman Ave.

 

Have textiles you want to repair?

Join us for a Textile Repair Fair:

Nov. 1st, 10:30am-2:30pm

Repair Coaches will be on hand to help skillshare textile repair on 1-2 items per patron.

They will teach you how to repair : Busted Seams – Small Holes – Missing Buttons – Hems – Visible Mending

Will also have a do it yourself Mending Circle to offer a space for you to take time and join neighbors to work on your own mending. Supplies will be on hand but feel free to bring your own. No repair instruction for the Mending Circle, but good vibes and community.

FIRST COME FIRST SERVED! This program is with our community sustainability partner Clean Bushwick Initiative.
