El Día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children's Day/Book Day), commonly known as Día, is a celebration every day of children, families, and reading that culminates yearly on April 30.

Día is a nationally recognized initiative that emphasizes the importance of literacy for all children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. It is a daily commitment to linking children and their families to diverse books, languages, and cultures.

Please join the Brighton Beach library in celebrating this day with a lovely performance by Musiquita .

Musiquita  is a playful exploration of music in Spanish and English, guided by a wife/husband duo, Blanca Cecilia González (vocals/violin/ukulele/percussion) and Jesse Elder (vocals/piano/melodica/percussion.) The couple performs a wide variety of music appropriate for all ages. Musiquita has two central goals: To uplift and encourage children and to strengthen and deepen the bonds between young people and the adults in their lives.

This program is generously supported with a grant from New York State Assemblymember Alec Brook-Krasny.
