In this workshop you will be learning two great art forms DeCoupage and Paper Beading. 

Decoupage is an art form that originated in France in the 17th century.  The word decoupage is  from the French word “de’couper,” which means “cut-out.”   You will learn how to design your decorative papers in colors of your choice that you will cut out, tear, texture, and adhere to glass jars, containers, boxes, and more to make the ordinary into extraordinary works of art.   You will enjoy this super easy, fun & rewarding art form.  Your newly created Decoupage art will make excellent holiday gifts.

SUPPLIES: can be purchased from Michaels or Amazon

• Assorted Papers (Hand-painted Paper, Tissue Paper, Deli Paper,   Decorative Napkins, Wrapping Paper, Aluminum Foil, Family Photos (photocopied or laser printed)
• Acrylic paints in assorted colors and few metallic colors
• Mod Podge (Matte finish)
• Scissors 
• Small Foam Brush  & Paint Brush
• Paper Plate
• Glass Jars, Containers, Bottles, or Cans
• Ruler • Pencil

Beads are one of the oldest forms of art. You will learn how to create unique beads using an assortment of papers and scrap pieces of leather.  You can fashion your beads into earrings, a bracelet, or a necklace.  Let your handmade beads add a new flair to your accessory wardrobe. These unique beads will make beautiful gifts for your friends.

  • Supplies Needed to make Beads
  • Tyvek envelope, Magazine paper, lightweight card stock, leather pieces (6”long)
  • Acrylic paint (assorted colors with one or two metallic colors)
  • Scissors, 12” ruler, pencil, pen
  • Mod Podge, or white glue, glue stick
  • Tooth picks, wooden skewer
  • Small paintbrush
  • Small cellulose sponge
  • Small plastic cup & paper plate
  • Supplies Needed to Create Earrings, Bracelet or a Necklace
  • Jewelry tools (round nose pliers, wire cutters, flat nose pliers)
  • Ear wire head pins
  • 24 gauge craft wire
  • Glass beads in assorted sizes (2mm – 8mm]
  • Spool of Elastic cord (1mm)
