Cinema From the Margins: Quad Gods

For the third installment of Cinema From the Margins, we'll be screening the made-for-tv film Quad Gods (2024). In this documentary, we follow the lives of a group of New Yorkers with quadriplegia who meet in a neuro rehabilitation lab and decide to join forces to form the world's first ever, fully quadriplegic e-sports team. As they navigate New York City, they confront challenges in pursuit of their shared dream to compete as athletes. This hilarious and heartfelt documentary subverts several assumptions about disability and enlightens audiences to the little known world of assistive gaming. This documentary provides a snapshot of the lives of the queer and trans youth of color who compete in NYC’s underground ballroom scene. Here they unite to create safe spaces of identity and artistic expression.

This movie is rated TV-14 and has a runtime of 1 hour and 30 minutes.
