kids STEM & STEAM

Join us on Saturday, January 24th, in the Grand Lobby of the Central Library (10 Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn, NY 11238). During this event, the Brooklyn Public Library will proudly host the Brooklyn Robotics League (BRL) Competition. The Competition is a borough-wide celebration of innovation, teamwork, and STEAM excellence.

This exciting event brings together 16 robotics teams from all Brooklyn neighborhoods as they compete for the trophy, borough bragging rights, and the opportunity to advance to the FIRST LEGO League Challenge Qualifier Tournament (FLLCQT). At the FLLQT, teams will face off against top competitors from across New York City, all aiming to advance to the New York City FIRST Championship.

Over the past three months, teams have devoted countless hours to designing and completing themed challenging missions, coding and refining their robots, and developing as collaborative problem-solvers. Along the way, participants have strengthened their skills in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics while embodying the core values of gracious professionalism, teamwork, and respect. This year's theme is UNEARTHED.

The BRL Competition is more than a competition; it’s a celebration of creativity, perseverance, and the power of young innovators working together.

Join us as we cheer on Brooklyn’s brightest minds and witness the future of STEAM in action.
