Join us for a night of discovery with local Brooklyn makers, tech folks, and artists. Brooklyn Public Library’s Our Streets, Our Stories and BKLYN Mixtape teams will host an interactive panel discussion, and silent party featuring a podcast mix.
Featuring native New Yorker Katie Halper, writer, comedian and the host of the podcast and PACIFICA/WBAI radio show "The Katie Halper Show."
Explore: Listen to Brooklyn Public Library’s oral history projects about Brooklyn residents, Our Streets, Our Stories and BKLYN Mixtape, through the use of SoundCloud, iTunes, Tumblr, and BPL’s website.
Learn: Join our panelists and community partners to hear about how to create a podcast and build a listenership.
Share: Contribute to the creative experience by recording your Brooklyn story, followed by a silent dance and listening party.
4-5pm: Learn about the library's amazing podcasts and oral history programs from a panel of content editors who will share their expertise. Featuring Brownsville Excerpts, KNRC Youth Radio Podcast, and Remix Academy.
5-6pm: Katie Halper presents on her experience podcasting and offers tips to succeed in a digital landscape.
