Join us at Brooklyn Heights Library as Trung Le Nguyen discusses his new novel, Angelica and the Bear Prince, with Alyssa Wong.

Being a teenager is no fairy tale . . . but that doesn’t mean you can’t find a little magic. A high schooler’s journey to recover from burnout leads to a surprising romance with a twist from the bestselling author of The Magic Fish.

Trung Le Nguyen (he/they) was born in a Vietnamese refugee camp and moved to the US when he was three.  He began drawing comics in middle school but never dreamed he would make a career of it.  Also known as Trungles, he is a comic book artist and illustrator working out of Minnesota. He received his BA from Hamline University in 2012, majoring in Studio Art with a concentration in oil painting and minoring in Art History. He has contributed work for Oni Press, BOOM! Studios, Limerence Press, and Image Comics. He is particularly fond of fairy tales, kids' cartoons, and rom-coms of all stripes.

Alyssa Wong (they/them) writes award-winning fiction, comics, and games. Their stories have won the Nebula, World Fantasy, Alfie, and Locus Awards. Alyssa was a finalist for the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer, and their fiction has been shortlisted for the Hugo, Bram Stoker, and Shirley Jackson Awards. They are a story architect of Star Wars: The High Republic and their debut middle-grade novel, Star Wars: The High Republic: Escape From Valo, co-written with NYT bestselling author Daniel José Older, released in 2024.
