anti-racism
banned books
first five years
storytime
Brooklyn Public Library presents a free program on the Brooklyn Children's Museum rooftop as part of Banned Book Week. Join us for a live performance by Lavender Blues, FYÜTCH, Antiracist Storytimes hosted by BPL, a protest art build station, book giveaways, and more! Antiracist Parenting 101 with Tabitha and Adam will be sharing resources and activities for families to try at home!
We will have two authors signing and giving away their books (while supplies last):
2:30pm: Megan Madison, author of Our Skin: A First Conversation About Race
3:30pm: Laleña Garcia, author of What We Believe: A Black Lives Matter Activity Book
Participants will learn about age-appropriate antiracist practices, including celebrating and affirming different races and identities, talking about injustice in our society, and modeling ways young children can engage in activism!
