Ms. Geshu is inviting you to get ready to celebrate Diwali (Oct. 20) with us.
🪔 Craft Your Own Diwali Diya - Create your own diya to bring home—or gift to someone who brings light into your life.
Diwali, the Festival of Lights themes, include traditional “diyas”. A diya is small traditional oil lamp, usually made from clay and used during sacred festivals in the Indian subcontinent, particularly Diwali.
Join Geshu Sugandh—local children’s book author and creator of BrooklynBiharn, a bilingual storytelling studio in English and Hindi—for a joyful, hands-on celebration of Diwali, the Festival of Lights from India. Through storytelling, crafts, and snacks from her book My Heart Would Like Some More, Please!, we explore Diwali, Hindi language, and the foods of India.
Come and hear stories, sing songs, make something fun For children 3-12 years old with and without disabilities. Group size limited to 12. A parent or caregiver must accompany.
