  • SummaryCaption: "New home of Downtown bank--Fulton Savings Bank, now located at 375 Fulton St., will open for business Monday morning in its new building at 389 to 397 Jay St., former site of the old Star Theater. The bank's present site has been acquired by the city for a portion of the Brooklyn Civic Center. The handsome new bank building, with its facade of Georgia limestone, will be in harmony with the architectural beauty of the Civic Center when completed. The Fulton Savings Bank was organized as the Germania Savings Bank on April 19, 1867. In 1920, the bank assumed its present name."
