  • TitleA dream come true
  • SummaryCaption: "A dream come true--An 18-month period during which a salary dispute between the Board of Education and the Public Schools Athletic League Coaches Association blotted out virtually all scholastic sports came to an end last week, when the striking mentors voted to end their work stoppage pending formal approval of the new Farbman pay schedule. Practially overnight the revival of athletics provided thousands of Brooklyn high school students with an eagerly-awaited dream-come-true. Interscholastic competition had returned to add zest and spice to everyday classroom routines. Aspirants [including the unidentified student pictured] for varsity letters turned out in eager droves for practice sessions in preparation for another football season [at Boys High School, located at the intersection of Marcy Avenue and Putnam Avenue]."
