Branca, 24, who had been deferred from serving in World War II because of a previous history of asthma, was again rejected from military service for the same reason. Branca, the first member of the Dodgers to be called, received his draft notice two weeks ago, whole the Dodgers were out West. Photograph stamped on back: International News Photos.
