When it was all over, Donald La Rosa of St. John's Home, speaking for the kids, thanked Boro Works Commissioner John J. Lynch, a member of the Roman Catholic Orphan Asylum Society of Brooklyn. Thanks also went to George Tilyou, park owner, John J. Flannery of the Children's Bus Service, and all the cops who helped make the day one long to remember."
