Biographical NoteAmala Madubuko is a high school senior currently residing in Queens, New York and is a first generation Nigerian American. Sylvia Kaplan is also first generation; her parents emigrated to New York in the 1920s from Russia. Sylvia currently lives in Brooklyn.
