Caption: "To celebrate anniversary--Miss Lary Lee Griffith and Mrs. Anthony W. Deller, who will participate in the Pilgrim Fair of Plymouth Church of the Pilgrims, are pictured reading the plaque which holds the piece of Plymouth Rock given to the church about 1840. The fair will celebrate the landing of the Pilgrims at Plymouth, and is sponsored by the Women's Guild of the church. It will be held in the gymnasium of the church house, Orange and Hicks Sts. [75 Hicks Street], on Thursday. Mrs. Deller is president of the Women's Guild." Plaque: "Piece of Plymouth Rock given Church of the Pilgrims about 1840. Placed here December 1940. The Door-stone of American liberty."
