Caption (0110): "Drawing shows foot, cable car and carriage ways of bridge when it opened." Caption (0113): "This cross-section of the Brooklyn Bridge shows how it looked in the old days before reconstruction work to modernize it and speed the flow of two-way traffic. There were provisions for only two lanes of traffic in either direction as well as for the trolley cars that carried persons between Brooklyn and lower Manhattan. Many persons also used the pedestrian lane shown." Caption (0114): "Widening of the Brooklyn Bridge and elimination of the trolley lanes, while retaining the pedestrian walk, will now permit traffic to flow ... in three lanes in either direction. Improved lighting and safer retaining girders at either side of the span are shown." One of the images is not dated.
