Caption: "The Van Buren homestead, also known as the Duryea house, once occupied the land on the east side of Flatbush Ave. between Tilden Ave. and Cortelyou Rd. just south of the old car barns which are barely visible to the left. This picture was taken in November, 1903. The names on the signs, reading from left to right, are: G. Rothapfel; Orland E. Way, jobbing carpenter; and H. P. Holm, painter and decorator. Mr. Rothapfel was the father of the famous Roxy."
