Spring Creek Presents: Basic Ukrainian Folk Painted (Petrykivka) Jewelry with Rhonda Weppler!

Join artist Rhonda Weppler and learn about this traditional decorative painting technique which originated from the village of Petrykivka hundreds of years ago.   Focusing on floral motifs, you will learn some basic brush techniques using acrylic paints on a wood base to make your own pendant or key fob to take home.  To protect your artwork, you can coat with UV resin in class.

All finished projects will be photographed at the end of the workshop, and become part of a digital photographic wreath. This image will combine artworks from across Weppler's workshop series that reflects on Ukrainian traditional folk art techniques and is organized by the Brooklyn Public Library Heritage Ambassador Program.
