Where Do I Start? Opening an Investment Account
This webinar is part of a series, Everyday Investing for Beginners. Find other webinars below.
Technological advances give today’s investors a wide range of choices on how and where to invest. You can go the more traditional route, working with a financial professional to make and execute investment decisions. You can go it totally alone, investing through an app on your couch. Or you can fall somewhere in between. Join Christine Kieffer and Robert Mascio of FINRA to explore your options and important considerations for opening an investment account.
Christine Kieffer is Senior Director of the FINRA Foundation with 25 years of financial and investor education experience. She develops tools and programs for law enforcement, advocates, and consumers to advance investor protection and fraud prevention initiatives. Christine also directs FINRA Foundation research into investor attitudes and behaviors. She serves on advisory boards to the National Adult Protective Services Association (NAPSA) and the Cybercrime Support Network and has led the production of two personal finance documentary films. Christine holds a Bachelor of Science from Vanderbilt University with double majors in Economics and Mathematics.
Robert Mascio is Director of Investor Education Outreach for the FINRA Foundation. In this capacity, Rob cultivates and manages programs to protect consumers from investment and other financial frauds. He also facilitates FINRA’s Investor Issues Committee. Rob previously managed FINRA’s Vulnerable Adults and Seniors Team, including the FINRA Securities Helpline for Seniors, and has experience with both member supervision and market regulation initiatives. Rob obtained his MBA from Florida State University and an undergraduate degree from Salisbury University.
