University Open Air: How Do We Deal with the Waste from Covid 19?
The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has led to an abrupt collapse of waste management chains. Safely managing medical and domestic waste is crucial to successfully containing the disease. Mismanagement can also lead to increased environmental pollution. All countries facing excess waste should evaluate their management systems to incorporate disaster preparedness and resilience.
Nichola Ramchurjee is a biodiversity/natural resources activist. With determination, she pursued her passion at the University of Mysore, India earning a Ph.D. in Environmental Science. She has more than 10 years of experience in research, biodiversity and natural resources conservation, remediation and data analytics. She explores social aspects in her environmental work and has published numerous research articles and books.
