University Open Air: DIY Plant Health Analysis with Infrared Light

BPL Presents social sciences University Open Air


In this workshop, you will learn how a digital camera can be adapted to capture infrared imagery, analyze plant health and explore other photographic possibilities. Participants will be introduced to the history of infrared light and photography.

Haoyan of America seeks to honor the mind of self through invisible landscapes of meaning. Some of his works include music videos for Eels' "The Magic" (2021), Cautious Clay's "Agreeable" (2020), Nate Mercereau's "This Simulation Is A Good One" (2019) and Crumb's "Locket" (2018). Haoyan has practiced & collaborated with artists like Phoebe Legere, Moko Fukuyama and Lorraine O'Grady, and with institutions like Pioneer Works, The Kitchen and The Shed. Classes will take place outside along the lawn surrounding the Boathouse in Prospect Park.
