With more than three million foreign-born residents, New York City is considered the most culturally diverse city in the United States. The range of nationalities and cultures in the city presents a unique opportunity to learn, experience, and build community with each other. Join this interactive discussion and explore ways to heighten cultural awareness in an increasingly polarized world.

Denise Wiley is a journalist, public relations practitioner, and ESL instructor. Prior to moving to the US, Ms. Wiley lived in Japan where she taught business English, business communication and cultural awareness. She holds a BA in Media and Communication and is pursuing graduate study in international migration. 

*In cases of rain, classes will be either moved to the Prospect Park Boathouse or canceled. Registered patrons will be notified by email on the morning of each course day and are also encouraged to check the UOA webpage and BPL Presents’ Facebook and Twitter pages for updates.
