The word Ashura is an Arabic word, which means numeric 10. Ashura is a sacred religious event for all Muslims. Muslims are divided into two major sects, 1- Shia Muslims, 2- Sunni Muslims, but Shia Muslims celebrate this event differently than Sunni Muslims. This event is celebrated every year according to the Islamic this month. Ashura reminds the great sacrification of Imam Hussain a.s holy grandson holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). How Imam Hussain a.s was betrayed and killed along with his family and friends in the battle of Karbala. This lecture will be very informative for those who have an interest in the background and consequences of the battle of Karbala.
