Manager of Patron Programs

BPL seeks an energetic, creative and dedicated development professional for the newly-created full-time position of Manager of Patron Programs. Reporting to the Director of Individual Giving and part of a 10-person highly collegial development team, this position is responsible for all aspects of the Whitman Circle, BPL’s program for donors at $1,500 and above, and the Brooklyn Eagles young supporters program, as well as a portfolio of additional mid-level donors and prospects.

HRIS Analyst

BPL is currently seeking a HRIS Analyst to join its Information Technology (IT) Department. The HRIS Analyst is responsible for working with the Human Resources and Finance Departments to provide functional support for the Infor/Lawson HR/Payroll suite and associated 3rd party applications as well as system configuration and administration. The Analyst will also analyze, design, build, test, deliver and maintain reports, dashboards and other data extracts as requested.

Press Officer

The library seeks a press officer to coordinate media relations for the institution. The ideal candidate will have experience working in or with print, web or broadcast media. The press officer collaborates with external media consultants but may also pitch and respond to reporters directly.

Garden Educator – Spring/Fall 2017 (Park Slope Branch)

Applications are solicited ASAP for BPL’s Garden Educator position at Park Slope Library. The Garden Educator will help plan and implement the 2017 season of activities in the eight raised beds in the recently completed Park Slope Library garden, including planting and maintenance of the raised beds, hosting open gardening hours for the community to help garden, and planning and running educational activities and games related to the garden for children.

Special Officer

The Special Officer’s responsibilities is to oversee and provide a safe and secure environment for employees and customers The Special Officer will parole the Library’s grounds to maintain order, preserve the peace and safeguard life and property against fire, vandalism, thefts, etc. Will enforce Library policy and procedure and assist in resolving critical situations peaceably. 

Pre-HSE Teacher (Part Time)

Brooklyn Public Library is seeking a Pre-HSE instructor to teach intermediate level adult basic education classes.  The Instructor will teach reading, writing and math to adults using curriculum developed by BPL and including CCSS in a technology rich learning environment.

Passport Acceptance Agent (Part-Time)

Locations: Central Library, Kings Highway & Arlington Branches

Brooklyn Public Library is seeking a part-time Passport Acceptance Agent to work in the Passport Offices located at Central Library, Kings Highway & Arlington branches. These offices are designated by the State Department to accept and pre-process passport applications. Agents are responsible for the review and intake of documents, forms and identification related to completing passport applications.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Outreach Associate

Under the direction of the Supervising Librarian, the Outreach Associate will conduct outreach in the community and work closely with the librarian in charge to prepare and conduct programs for youth (ages birth to 21 years) with and without disabilities.  These programs include, but are not limited to: Read and Play; After School Stories; Our Garden Club; Family Lego; and class visits.
