ABOUT THE YOUTH COUNCIL PROGRAM

Apply to be a part of the council!

WHO

Teens, ages 14-19! Motivated, collaborative, creative individuals who want to share their voice in library decision-making, event-planning and leadership.

WHAT

Plan and execute BLP's largest teen event of the year, Urban Art Jamm at Central Library. Build skills in event planning, budgeting, and marketing. Learn the ins and outs of how libraries operate. Serve as peer leaders and library advocates.

WHEN

Once Wednesday a month from 5:30-7:30 PM from Nov-May, plus mid-winter break intensive and event on April 25, 2020.

WHERE

Brooklyn Public Library's Central Library, located at 10 Grand Army Plaza in Brooklyn.

HOW

Online Applications open in early fall.

All applicants will received a follow up email, and select applicants will be invited for an interview on Oct 22th or 24th.  10 teens will be offered a spot on the Youth Council. We look forward to receiving your application!

WHAT ELSE: The Perks
