Park Slope Library's spectacular interior features leaded stainedglass archways, freestanding ash columns, a combination of oak, ash and chestnut woodwork that comprises its shelving and judge’s paneling throughout the first floor. A vaulted, stained-glass ceiling adorns in the upper mezzanine and is viewable from the first floor. Each wing contains a pair of tiled fireplaces crafted by Grueby Faience Company of Revere Massachusetts. Each glazed, tiled fireplace is adorned with friezes reclaimed from ancient and unknown New York buildings. The Children’s Wing frieze depicts a procession of youth making music and dancing, while the Adult Wing’s frieze displays a robed choir of young men singing. Conveniently located in one of Brooklyn’s premier neighborhoods, Park Slope Library's 3,200 square foot unique layout offers the perfect location for cocktail style events for up to 300 guests and is perfect for anniversaries, birthdays, quinceaneras and other large scale events.
