Brooklyn Public Library is improving our online catalog and migrating to a new mobile app this fall! We'll be providing updates here on the transition as we roll out these changes and improvements.

The new catalog

We're excited to announce that we've launched the next generation of our library catalog. This new interface will be more seamlessly integrated into our website, but it will still do everything you've come to expect from Brooklyn Public Library's online catalog: you can browse the catalog and place items on hold for pickup at your closest branch, you can add books to a For Later Shelf and create booklists. The new catalog will allow you to log in with your barcode and PIN, OR with your username and PIN—don't worry, nothing about your login information will change!

Ready to explore the new catalog? Check it out.

Issues during our migration

Please note: During the transition between our current catalog and the new catalog, some booklists may be lost. Any user content (booklists, shelves, ratings and comments) created between August 23 and August 28 may not be saved to your account after migration.

We welcome your feedback with our new catalog! You can give us feedback here or if you're having issues with your account, you can get in touch via phone: Call 718.YOUR.BPL or 718.968.7275 or chat with a librarian.

Using our catalog on your mobile device

While we work on developing our new mobile app, patrons can still access the catalog on their mobile devices. Visit if you'd like to browse the catalog and log into your BPL account.

The new mobile app

As of September 1, 2017, the current MyBPL app will no longer be functional. We're planning to roll out a new app in mid-December 2017, and we'll notify patrons once it's live in both the iOS App Store and the Android Play Store. The new app will still be called MyBPL and will feature everything you'll need to interact with the Library from your phone:

  • Browse the catalog
  • Place an item on hold for pickup at your nearest branch
  • Get information about BPL, including branch locations & hours
  • Access your account details (with login)
  • Add a scannable digital Library Card to the app
  • Renew holds and pay fines

Between September 1, 2017 and the mid-December launch date for the new MyBPL, patrons will find that the current app on their phone is non-functional. Please point your mobile browser to if you'd like to browse the catalog and log into your BPL account.

Renewing your checked-out items
