Your body vs. the concrete
As part of Democracy Lab at the Spacebuster, Romain Guillard, member of the contemporary circus collective Compagnie XY , will teach two workshops on acrobatics, inviting participants to push the boundaries of individual possibility through the power of trust and collective support.
Romain Guillard, who appeared at Night of Philosophy 2018, trained as an acrobat and aerialist at les Noctambules. He trained further at Balthazar and at the Ecole Nationale de Cirque de Châtellerault, and continued his training at the Centre des Arts du Cirque de Lomme. He created the show Yvan le T. and has performed in Monteverdi’s opera Orpheo, as Don Quixote with the company Fahrenheit 451, as Cocons with the company Tréteaux du Cœur Volant, and has appeared repeatedly at concerts performed by Marc Perrone. He is also trained as a stage technician and light designer. In 2008, after a break, he rejoined Company XY for the formation of Le Grand C.
