AAHC Bklyn Incubator We Everywhere

We Everywhere: Dialogues of the African Diaspora is a virtual series showcasing the overlooked voices, stories and histories of the African diaspora. From unexpected American states to countries including Germany, Iran, Ecuador, Israel, Palestine, Turkey and China, we’ll learn about various forms of migration that brought Afro-descendants to myriad places. Through storytelling workshops, film screenings, panel presentations, and explorations of art, music, food and traditions, we’ll explore these rich global communities and their connections to Brooklyn.

This event will center Black life in China. Panelists will reflect on the history and realities of Blackness in China and Afro-descendent groups living in China. The panelists include:

  • Keisha Brown, Assistant Professor, History, Tennessee State University
  • Ruodi Duan, PhD Candidate, History, Harvard University
  • Kun Huang, PhD Candidate, Comparative Literature, Cornell University
  • Don Wyatt, Distinguished Professor, History, Middlebury College

Note: This program is offered through the African American Heritage Center (AAHC), housed at the Macon Library.
