The Sparrow Sisters are parents from Brooklyn who play music for young children (ages 0-5). With guitar and vocal harmonies, they perform a sweet mixture of folk and nursery songs.

Original members, Katy Stone (guitar) and Jessie Shaffer (violin) began playing as a folk duo at farmers markets and birthday parties in 2015. Since then the Sparrows Sisters have expanded to include Laura Wilson (vocals), Sal Garro (percussion) and Gil Shuster (washtub bass).

This series will feature Katy and Laura although other members may pop in from time to time.

Katy Stone began leading sing alongs shortly after her first daughter was born in 2014. Before parenthood, she played with a number of folk and rock bands, most notably Goldenboy, based out of Los Angeles. Katy studied music, yoga and studio art in the Southern California college town of Claremont were she attended Scripps College and worked at The Folk Music Center (a remarkable store and museum).

Laura Wilson trained as an actor in London graduating in 2009. She was an original member of the band The Scarlet Sundaes and spent six months touring the country with Chapterhouse Outdoor Theater Company. Laura only recently began singing again after taking a break to care for her two young ones. She loves working with children and the chance it gives her to be as silly as she likes.
