poetry Virtual Programming writing workshop

Bring out the poet within you!

Led by poet Victor Barranca, we will read published poetry as a prompt to inspire our own writing in our journeys toward creativity.

As we explore a variety of poetic structures, we will write our own poetry using traditional forms as well as free verse.

Our community of participants will encourage each other and strengthen our skills using discussion and creative commentary.

Victor Barranca has a BA and an MA in English. He has taught classes in writing and in English Literature from middle school through college. My Music, in Verse is his first book of poetry. He is a member of the Academy of American Poets. He is also an actor who has appeared in plays ranging from Shakespeare to Arthur Miller. He can be seen in the feature film “It’s Always Been You” for which he won the Best Actor Award from the Iconic Images Film Festival.

Please register for this virtual program.  The Zoom link will be sent out at 10am the day of each program.

Services for Older Adults is partially funded by Coordinated Outreach Library Services aid from the New York State Education Department, administered by the State Library’s Division of Library Development. All programs are sponsored by Brooklyn Public Library’s Department of Outreach Services.
