This online event featuring podcast marketing consultant Jeremy Helton is meant to help independent podcasters promote their shows and grow their audience.
 
We'll look at promotional tactics like cross promos with other podcasters and paid advertising on podcast discovery apps, and explore topics like whether or not press and social media actually drive downloads.
 
Three podcasters will be selected from our pool of applicants and Jeremy will do a live, 20-minute consultation in front of an online audience. All will be welcome to tune into the event to watch the consultations and gather insights on promoting their own podcasts. Jeremy Helton consults with organizations and independent producers on a range of podcast-related marketing, engagement, and PR projects. His clients include: Michigan Radio, RAICES, VPM, Loud Tree Media, Zolberg Institute on Migration and Mobility at The New School, Osiris Media, WJCT Public Media, Kickstarter, Omega Institute, and Carnegie Corporation of New York. Before moving into podcast promotion he co-founded The Recollective, a production company that partnered with non-profit organizations and NPR partner stations to develop original content for broadcast, engagement, and advocacy purposes. He is a 2011 A.I.R. New Voices Scholar; a Transom Donor Fund Award Winner; and former Vice President, Marketing & Communications at Audioboom, a global platform that hosts, distributes and monetizes podcasts.
