The Open Newsroom in the Library
The Brooklyn Public Library & THE CITY invite you to the Open Newsroom to chat, eat snacks & figure out how local news can better serve you.
Whose information do you trust more: TV or your best friend? Is Facebook your only news feed? Let’s talk.
Come hang out with us at The Open Newsroom.
THE CITY, a new, independent, nonprofit newsroom dedicated to hard-hitting reporting that serves the people of New York, is launching a year-long project with the Brooklyn Public Library called The Open Newsroom. The two organizations will convene 24 neighborhood meetings at six library branches over the next year to better understand how information finds its way to and through a community and to explore how to make local news more collaborative.
So come join friends and neighbors in The Open Newsroom. You’ll also learn more about the kinds of local reporting THE CITY is doing — and, more importantly, THE CITY will get to know you and better understand what’s important to you and your neighbors. Reporters from THE CITY and library staff will be on hand. Oh, and refreshments will be served.
