Павел Моисеевич Грушко (1931 г.р.) —автор четырёх поэтических сборников: «Заброшенный сад» (1999), «Обнять кролика» (2003), «Между Я и Явью» (2007) и «Свобода слов» (2011). В переводе на испанский его сборники опубликованы в Испании, в Мексике и в Перу. Награждён Золотой медалью Альберико Сала (по жанру поэзии) на литературном конкурсе в Италии (Безана-Брианца, 1994 г.).

Он автор пьес и либретто, собранных в антологии «Театр в стихах» (Москва. АСТ-Астрель. 2008). Одна из них — "Звезда и Смерть Хоакина Мурьеты" (по мотивам драматической кантаты П. Неруды) выдержала около 1200 представлений в московском театре "Ленком", стала кинофильмом и аудио-альбомом.

Павел Грушко — испанист по образованию — переводчик классической и современной литератур Испании и стран Латинской Америки, Португалии и Бразилии, Англии и США. Он один из учредителей и вице-президент Ассоциации испанистов России.

Был руководителем творческих семинаров в Литературном институте им. М.Горького и в Московском университете им. М.Ломоносова. Член Союза писателей Москвы с 1965 года.

С 2001 г. живёт преимущественно в г. Бостон (США).

Pavel M. Grushko is a poet, playwright, and a translator of poetry and prose from Spain, Latin America, England, and the United States. He is a member of the Moscow Writers Union and Vice-President of Specialists in history/philology of the Spanish Scholar Association of Russia.

Mr. Grushko has published two books of poetry Forgotten Garden, To Hug a Bunny, and a comprehensive anthology Between Me and Reality. His translations into Spanish were published in Spain, Peru, and Mexico. For his poetry, he was awarded a gold medal at the Alberico Sala poetry contest in Besana-Brianza, Italy (1994).

Mr. Gruhsko’s interpretations, in addition to his original work, include the plays of Mikhail Bulgakov, Thomas Mann, Saltykov-Shchedrin, Sholom Aleikhem, and Maxim Gorky. His play The Star and Death of Joaquin Murietta, inspired by the dramatic cantata by Pablo Neruda, enjoys great popularity. Mr. Grushko’s adaptation of poetry to theater productions presents a unique literary experience.

Pavel M. Grushko has translated from Spanish to Russian works of Pablo Neruda, Octavio Pas, Gongora, Quevedo, Garcia Lorca, Jose Marti, Guilien, Borges, and others. He has translated from English to Russian the works of D. Donn, D. Thomas, Oden, Sandberg, Pen Worren, Wilbur, the poets of the Beatnik period, and others.

Pavel M. Grushko was a member of the poetry jury in Panama (2002). He is the author of the Trans\Forms project (the theory and practice of literary translation as a method of transformations in different genres of art).

During the past six years, he has been living and working in Boston, Massachusetts.
