Join our knowledgeable guide, Prof. Andrew Lear, as he shows images of LGBTQ - inspired art works and explains the cultural context in whch they were created. From the ancient world to the present, from art created to inspire spirituality, to depictions of everyday life, you will see art expressing the full range of human ideals and behavior. In the past and the present, some of this art has been suppressed or is kept hidden from view.

Prof. Lear has taught at Harvard, Columbia University, Pomona College, and NYU. His work includes efforts to bring the history of gender and sexuality to a wide public beyond the academy, through blog posts, lectures, and educational tours that he designs and leads.
